Web 2.0 is a
revolutionary view of the Internet and the social and business uses of
advanced technologies rather than the technical aspects of those
technologies. QoS Lab’s management believes that every web site will evolve
in some way into web 2.0, opening online participation spaces to
communities around a web page, an e-commerce site, an enterprise portal or
a social network.
The social web involves
a subset of interactions that are highly social, conversational and
participatory. Features of social web applications include: a) expressing and
developing identity; b) relationships; c) trust; d) user-driven content; e)
tagging and folksonomy; f) interactive web
applications and rich internet applications; and, g) mobility. QoS Labs
studies Web 2.0 best practices, social software, profile portability, network
identity, network governance, interaction between social networks, social
network analysis, social network management, mobile app platforms and other
key technologies required for developing social media and combines these
technologies with knowledge representation technologies applied to the
social graph.
Social media will
enhance social, government and business processes. It will help to gain competitive
advantage – providing creative ideas to entrepreneurs and valuable feedback
to marketing departments, managers, legislators, policy makers and decision
makers in general. By combining web 2.0 and web 3.0 visions and
technologies, QoS Labs aims at developing smarter web 2.0 application.
