The long-term objective
of QoS Labs’ research work is to create a semantic-oriented software
development paradigm for the Web. Under this objective, knowledge modeling
tools are provided directly to domain experts without the limitations
imposed by the object-oriented software development paradigm.
QoS Labs’ vision of the
Web is based on a short-term trend for a more participatory Web (Web 2.0 or
Social Web) and a longer-term trend for a better knowledge society served
by the Internet (Web 3.0 or Semantic Web), in which linked data is
represented semantically and exposed to the Web for reuse by ubiquitous
services. There are many critical areas involved in both trends that
require deep understanding and creative technology in order to respond to
market concerns.
Current lab efforts are focused on the Semantic Social Web and the SaaS
delivery model.
