Web Services Integration Lab

 

Use of Web Services open standards replacing EAI from previous lab phase to integrate enterprise services. Efforts were divided into business models: Web Services Integrator (insourcing) and Web Services Provider (SaaS). The lab started its semantic research during this phase.

 

- Study metadata standards (i.e., Dublin Core, LOM)

- Apply Dublin Core metadata to QoS Labs’ SOA framework representation.

- Implement 2nd generation of QoS Labs’ SOA knowledgebase.

- Implement 3rd generation of the SOA reference framework.

- Design a Web Services Reference Framework (WSRA), implementing collaboration services (i.e., instant messaging, group calendar, e-mail), content management, IDE, mobile access, Single Sign-On and edge service device for distributed service processing.

- Design access matrix and security gateway to personalize portal according to profile and user role (Role-Based Access).

- Develop Web Services applied to integration of heterogeneous apps, using the latest WSDL, SOAP and UDDI specifications.

- Develop an open LDAP adapter with Web Services capabilities.

- Implement seamless integration of LDAP, Access Management, Identity Management and Document Management platforms into an identity management turnkey solution use case.

- Implement 3rd generation of QoS Labs’ SaaS portal with e-Business, content & document management capabilities.

- Study DMTF’s Common Information Model (CIM) to represent management information semantically.

- Analyze commercial and open source fault, SLA and configuration managers and integrate key functionalities to the SaaS platform.

- Implement fault correlation system with third-party apps.

- Implement 2nd generation of SaaS management platform with secure access, fault monitoring & correlation, usage accounting & SLA.

- Implement SOA use cases applied to service providers, financial companies and retail.

- Study semantic network technologies to facilitate service integration.

- Implement first semantic portal use cases.
